Here’s what we’re talking about this week:

  • what’s HOT right now (aka trending cocktails)

  • Cool down from the summer HEAT, mocktail recipe ideas

    • also, how to hydrate up

  • Spicy GO-TO cocktail recipes

  • Spicy syrups & infusions

  • Know your peps 🌶️

what’s HOT right now

what’s trending? No, we aren’t talking to you Aperol Spritz…

  • Gin & Tonics: this may sound obvious to some, but I feel like the G&T took a backseat there for a second. But lately, I’ve been seeing SO many versions of it and honestly, every time I sip one I realize I’m stupid for not sipping more!

    • G&T combos to try

      • Since we are on the topic: SPICY! Try adding a chile liqueur, about 1/2 oz, or muddle fresh jalapeno in your glass before pouring in your gin.

      • Muddled fruit: take your favorite seasonal fruit & muddle it right in the glass before serving up your G&T

      • Liqueurs: add a fun new liqueur like a Mango liqueur or Passion fruit (chinola is a great brand for both), or add some Aperol or Campari (say less, am I right?)

  • TOMATOES: Yes, you read that right. Tomatoes are trending and in the best way if you’re looking to have a tomato-girl summer. Savory cocktails are on the up and up. So go to your local farmers market and snag some heirloom tomatoes for your next savory cocktail. Try this

@join_julesHolding onto summer with this savory martini: Bruschetta Martini (& yes, it tastes exactly how it sounds) Lots of martini lovers love a good brine for a martini, especially those dirty martini lovers out there. If you’re saying, hey that’s me 👋🏼 then you NEED to try this savory twist on the martini. It’s perfectly the taste of summer and giving the tomatoes the spotlight it deserves. 🍅 Here’s how to make it: Make bruschetta purée by add: 1 cup chopped heirloom tomato + 3-4 basil leaves + 1 tsp sea salt + 1 tbsp vinegar (you can use balsamic or i opted for this @acidleague garden heat vinegar) +splash of water Blend & strain through a fine mesh and cheese cloth Build your martini in a mixing glass by adding: 3/4 oz bruschetta purée 3/4 oz dry vermouth 2 or 2.5 oz gin (or vodka I’d recommend using @kastraelion for vodka) Mix together using a mixing spoon, strain into a chilled coupe or martini glass. Top with EVOO & a fresh basil leaf. Xoxo, cheers #martini #dirtymartini #tomato #heirloomtomatoes #tomatoseason #cocktailrecipes
