Peach Perfect 🍑 Stone Fruit Week 2024
It's that time of year again... stone fruit week is here and YOU get the inside look at the week ahead!
What Are Stone Fruits?
Stone fruits are named for the hard pit or "stone" encased within their juicy flesh. This stone is surrounded by a fleshy part of the fruit, making them distinct from other fruit varieties. Common stone fruits:
Peaches: Known for their fuzzy skin and sweet, succulent flesh. They’re perfect fresh, grilled, or baked into pies.
Plums: These come in a variety of colors, from deep purple to bright red. Their flavor can range from sweet to tart, making them incredibly versatile.
Cherries: Sweet or sour, cherries are a summer favorite. They’re fantastic fresh, in desserts, or even in savory dishes.
Apricots: With their sweet, slightly tangy flavor, apricots are great for snacking, cooking, or making preserves.
Nectarines: Essentially a smooth-skinned peach, nectarines offer a similar flavor profile but with a different texture.
Choosing Stone Fruit
When selecting stone fruit, look for fruits that are firm but slightly soft to the touch. Because stone fruits continue to ripen after being picked, you’ll want them somewhat under-ripe to let them fully ripen on your counter!
Syrups/purees/infusions you’ll need for the week ahead!
Hot Honey Peach Syrup Puree

Peach Cobbler Syrup (you don’t understand… this will be my new personality trait)
to a pot add; 1-2 peaches, chopped + 3-4 cinnamon sticks + 1 tsp ground nutmeg + pinch of allspice
Add 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup water and place on medium heat until sugar dissolves.
Once dissolved, let simmer for approx. 12-15 minutes.
Let cool, remove cinnamon sticks and blend!
Grilled peach syrup
Grill peaches by coating them with butter that has been melted with brown sugar and freshly ground cinnamon
Grill approx. 4-6 minutes.
Onced cooled, chop 1 grilled peach and add to a pot with 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup brown sugar.
Blend together until smooth!
Plum infused gin
To a jar add: 1 cup of fresh chopped plums and enough gin to cover the plums, approx. 1.5 cups.
Seal and Shake:
Seal the jar tightly and give it a gentle shake.
Store the jar in a cool, dark place. Let the plums infuse for about 5-7 days. Shake the jar gently once a day to help with the infusion process.
