Let’s be honest—by mid-October, we’ve all had our fair share of pumpkin spice. It's everywhere! And while it’s been a good run, I’m ready to mix things up. Say hello to apple spiced syrup—the fresh, spiced twist on fall that brings all the cozy vibes without the pumpkin overload. Think warm spices like cinnamon and cloves paired with the sweet, crisp flavor of apples. It’s everything you love about autumn, minus the pumpkin fatigue.
So, here’s how to make it
APPLE SPICED SYRUP
Ingredients
1 Cup Brown sugar, or sugar of choice
1/2 Cup Water
1/2 Cup Apple Cider
3-4 Cinnamon sticks
1-2 Star Anise
1 tsp Ground Cloves, or 6-8 cloves
1-2 Small Apples of choice, chopped or cut into slices
Instructions
Add to a medium sauce pot and all ingredients.
Place on medium heat, stirring together, until the sugar dissolves.
Once dissolved, place on a low simmer for 15-20 minutes.
Let cool completely before straining, pressing down on the apples to release all those juices.
Optional: add in a shot of Cognac or Whiskey, or vodka if you don’t want to influence the flavor too much.
This will help keep your syrup even longer, we’re talking over a month!
Store in a sealed jar, in the fridge!
And there you have it—apple spiced syrup, your new fall favorite! Whether you’re drizzling it into your morning coffee, adding it to cocktails, or even using it in desserts, this syrup is sure to bring all the cozy fall feels without the pumpkin overload. So go ahead, give your taste buds a break from the pumpkin craze and enjoy the crisp, spiced sweetness of apple instead. Once you try it, you might just wonder how you ever got through fall without it!
Xoxo, cheers!
Yay! I’m going apple picking tomorrow!
