Get Your Buns Over Here: How To Host a Jules-Approved 4th of July πΊπ²
Less stress, and more fun. This is your ultimate hosting guide for the 4th of July.
The holiday week is here, and if youβre anything like me, youβre already halfway in celebration mode (mentally, at least). Every Fourth of July, like clockwork, we pack up the Yeti, shake up a batch of watermelon margaritas (my signature, obviously), and make our way to the beach in North County San Diego. Itβs officially a tradition of ours, and we love every sun-soaked, salty second. After a few hours of ocean dips, sandy snacks, and overly competitive beach volleyball, we head back home for what I lovingly call round two: burgers on the grill, cold drinks in hand, and that magical moment when your friends are a little sunburned and a lot happy. This is how we do the Fourth!
Hosting can feel like a lotβ¦ but it doesnβt have to be. Iβve pulled together my go-to recipes, styling tips, drink hacks, and nostalgic must-haves to help you throw a Fourth thatβs low-stress, high-fun, and just a breeze. Letβs get to celebrating!
Hosting Like Youβve Done This Before
Good hosting isnβt about perfection; itβs about having the right stuff before guests arrive so you can actually enjoy the day. Here are my essentials that help keep things flowing, drinks cold, and vibes high. Yes, some are practicalβ¦ some are just cute. You need both. π Just a heads up, I have included affiliate links, meaning I could earn a small commission if you purchase through these links (at no extra cost to you!).
A Good Drink Bucket (or Two): You donβt want your guests going in and out of your fridge all day, so Iβd recommend one bucket for wine and one for canned drinks. I love this one for the festive colors and the attached bottle opener.
Pre-Batched Cocktails: If you take one thing from this, batch your drinks!!! Itβs the difference between playing bartender all day and floating in the pool with your margarita. You can get fancy with a glass dispenser or purchase an easy plastic dispenser, or pour ready-to-sip cocktails into cute, on-theme glassware (like these picnic goblets).
I plan to make a large batch of my favorite Watermelon Margarita Recipe for guests to serve themselves.
This Batched Watermelon Basil Margarita recipe is my favorite for effortless hosting.
